Transport & Logistics (abbreviated to T&L) is broadly defined as the all the processes involved in the movement and storage of goods. As such it includes air and sea freight, road and rail freight, freight forwarding, port and airport operations, customs broking, transport security, customs and quarantine, warehousing, export and import operations etc.
Freight Transport, whether by plane, train, ship, truck or pipeline, underpins every consumer decision you and your family make. It is "derived demand", i.e. demand created by the original demand for a physical item like furniture or bread.
Transport & Logistics operations are an economic activity in thier own right, and constitutes approximately 14.5% of Australian GDP or $130 billion dollars annually. This makes "T&L" the largest industry in Australia.
